Not good at all. Nobody cares about poor people at all. Streets are dirty and nobody cleans them although everybody has to pay a council tax
This is a difficult one for me, because I have had good and bad with them. But, the bad is generally the people they subcontract out to, futures being the main culprit for the heaviest of critical votes I will give 3/10. Mainly because they are slow, and really like their breaks far to often. But by far the very worst subcontractors are the team that retiled our roof, infact they were close to killing me! This is not a joke or exaggeration.....I walked out of my front door and the "rain stopper" above the door him me in the head! They had dropped a load of the tiles, which smashed down onto the rainstopper thing which bumped me on the head, if it had not been there I would have been severely injured at best! But, the counsel themselves are mediocre at their jobs too. It doesn't bide well really!3/5 just because they do get "it" done.....eventually.
Totally dislike Amber valley Borough Council, everytime there is a issue or with my bin not being emptied properly, it's all too much hassle for them. Disgusting service how they get away with it is anyone's guess!!
One third of Amber Valley Borough Council in Derbyshire, England is elected each year, followed by one year without election. Since the last boundary changes in 2000, 45 councillors have been elected from 23 wards.
I have to agree with some of the other reviewers; I have contacted this council on two important matters in the past couple of years. They simply found it all too difficult to take action - even requesting that I do their work for them on one occasion. Yet when I submitted an application to review my Council Tax band they were all over it..... Shock. My experiences unfortuntaely reinforce the stereotype views we have of local civil servants, i.e. can't be bothered; too busy moaning about their salaries (compared to the Private sector where people have to work to stay employed); can't think beyond their old-fashioned policies and processes.
