Lovely atmospher, excellent food, run very well and all the staff are friendly. Is a good place to stop for a real ale pint, glass of wine and light bites, if you don't fancy a full blown meal. Walkers welcome and it's dog friendly too. Comfy chairs in the bar area by a log burner to take the chill away after a long walk or hard day. I would highly recommend The Dog at Pentrich.
A very dog oriented pub with statues, painting and cushion litter everywhere you look for the canine. I would highly recommend coming here, espiecelly on the cold and long nights from your long walks from sight seeing the sights of the last revolution in england. The day will disappear fast with a pint while sitting down along the log fire.The restaurant next door has your classic pub special along with a list of speciality of small plates. Which they would recommend you need to order 3 to 4 plates per person.

Gorgeous location where you can sit and view for miles and miles. The restaurant part is really nice and the food is freshly made from a small select menu. Then the pub part is much more rustic where dogs are welcome. Great pub.
The Dog at Pentrich is a lovely little country pub and restaurant.The menu varies and has a fantastic top quality food choice, not stupid massive menu, but one with a very well balanced considered range of dishes.The service is friendly polite and the staff are well informed. It's a casual environment, but very attractive and strikes a really good balance of homely comfortable with modern dining. The food that's what this is all about and it's just simply brilliant. We have been four times in the past couple of months.. Every time we have left remarking 'what a fantastic meal that was'! It takes a lot for me to give five stars but The Dog deserves it.. And, it's consistently good, really good. I had a chicken main course last week and I can honestly say it was the best main course I have has in years. I rarely have chicken out, as its so often boring but this..... Stunning.Last nights meal was again a triumph and the New Autumn menu is a delight. The Dog has now become our 'go to' restaurant and our number one choice in the area..
